iPhone vs Treo : Size

Another of my “Addicts” sites is treo Addicts. When the iPhone was released today and Steve Jobs was taking stabs at the Treo, I decided I should do a few comparisons. First one is fairly simple - size. How big is the iPhone vs the Treo? Well they are pretty close (if you don’t count the antenna on the 600/650/700) in dimensions besides thickness.

The Treo is 113mm x 58mm x 23mm whereas the iPhone is 115mm x 61mm x 11.6mm. So the iPhone is a hair taller (by a couple mm), a hair wider (by a few mm), but exactly half as thick. Pretty impressive.

Apple posts Macworld (iPhone) streams

Apple has posted the stream for the Macworld keynote given by Steve Jobs this morning. The page gives 2 viewing options, the full keynote address and iPhone Introduction only stream.

Unfortunately, it seems that the streams are already overloaded. When I try to watch either of the streams, the viewer just shows “Due to exceptional demand, your request could not be completed at this time. Please try again at a later time.” So I guess I will be trying again at a later time… say in 5 sec intervals.

Cingular posts iPhone “Coming Soon” page

Cingular has put up an “Coming Soon” page that details some of the great new features, email info sign-up form and of course points out the exclusivity of the Apple iPhone to the Cingular network.
